Dr. Sandeep Pandey
Dr. Sandeep Pandey is a Gandhian, a distinguished academician and a grassroots activist. Dr. Pandey co-founded “Asha for Education”, a Pan India non-profit organization, with a larger purpose to bring socio-economic change through education. He has served as an adviser to the Indian government's Central Advisory Board for Education (CABE). His idea of education is based on empowerment by imbibing the spirit of co-operation instead of competition.
In 2002, he received “Ramon Magsaysay Award” for Emergent Leadership. He has also been a founding member of National Alliance of People’s Movements (NAPM), the largest network of grassroots people’s movements in India. Pandey led an Indo-Pakistan peace march from New Delhi to Multan in 2005.
His team has launched a people's group named Asha Parivar in 2008 that focuses on strengthening democracy at the grassroots in Hardoi district of Uttar Pradesh. Pandey's work at Asha Parivar is focused on Right to Information and other forms of citizen participation in removing corruption and improving the efficiency of governance.
Prof. Sandeep Pandey is currently building a movement for ensuring quality education to every child by strengthening implementation of Right to Education act in Uttar Pradesh.
Sandeep Pandey is an alumnus of IIT (BHU) and received doctorate from University of California, Berkeley.
Rajesh is a Prime Minister’s Rural Development Fellow (PMRDF) working in a remote, Naxal affected & tribal district in Odisha. As a PMRDF, he is working on improving last mile service delivery across sectors like Health, ICDS, Education, Tribal Empowerment, Swatch Bharat etc using technology & innovative ideas. Through this fellowship, he has gained intricate experience of working with government at various levels.
Prior to this, he was on the Governing Board of a couple of NGOs and shaped them from very early stages to sustainable enterprises. Voluntarily, he has contributed to improving school education & women empowerment in urban slums and nurturing young social leaders while working as Consultant in IT sector in Hyderabad.
Rajesh is an alumnus of BITS-Pilani & currently pursuing Master’s in Development Practice (MDP) from TISS, Mumbai.
Rajesh V has been an entrepreneur right from his school age & grown up overcoming various challenges in his early life. He is currently Head of Product Introduction Process & Pre-Press at ITC Packaging Business. He develops superior packaging & design solutions for new product launches that have won several national, international awards and patented. He has represented his company at various international packaging associations & trade shows. Rajesh is a management graduate from BITS, Pilani and has been leading key functions at ITC PPB for over 11 years.
Manaswi is a PhD student of Ecology in NCBS, Bengaluru and is looking at the impact of human activities on ecosystem processes. As a student, he has volunteered & led initiatives related to primary education, environment conservation & sustainability.
Manaswi learned about the complexities involved in execution of nature conservation projects in a human-dominated system while working in Western Ghats.
Manaswi holds an MSc in Environmental Science from Trinity College, Dublin and an MSc in Biological Sciences from BITS-Pilani.
Prateek is an entrepreneur working in a startup “emptycup - 3dwalk”. During his college days at BITS-Pilani, he lead projects (of Nirmaan Organization) related to education and students personality development. He initiated student led social work club in BKBIET College, Pilani.
He learnt about policy making & different acts through internship at Rakshak Foundation. He later initiated Public Policy Club at his college to bring together policy enthusiasts. His Shodh Yatra experience with Prof. Anil Gupta gave him exposure to innovations happening at the grass root level.
Manoj Papisetty is technologist at heart. He has a computer science degree from BITS Pilani and is working at Cisco building and supporting next generation computer networks. Manoj serves on the board at I Do and We, The People (NGO working in the space of active citizenship). He understands the importance of appropriate technology for operational efficiency in NGOs. At both the NGOs, he serves as a technology consultant and helps the teams implement new technology and operationalize processes for the same.
Somasundaram, a teacher turned Software professional, came from a rural back ground and presently working for Deque, a software company whose mission is digital accessibility for differently abled people. He has 4 years of experience in teaching and more than 8 years of experience in IT industry.
Soma volunteered with an NGO for more than 5 years, started his journey as volunteer and served as executive committee member. He has been mentoring many rural students since his teaching days. Soma holds Master's in Computer Applications from HCU.
Kunjan has a keen eye and knack for combining hardware technology, software capabilities and innovative design thinking in the products he makes. He started off his career with Gram Power Inc, a US-based smart metering startup that develops innovative solutions for un-electrified rural areas in India & East Africa.
A graduate from BITS Pilani – Goa, Kunjan has played a leadership role at international startups. Back in 2012, he worked on US Department of Energy funded Smart Grid Initiatives and was a part of pioneering research on the subject. He led a project to deliver smart meter technology to India’s far flung rural areas – an endeavor which was awarded by NASA as one of the world’s top 10 clean-tech Innovations. He plays football & flute.
Hailing from a small farmer’s family of a marginalized community in a village and studying in Govt. schools, Omkar is an IFS (Indian Forest Service) officer now undergoing training in Dehradun.
As a PMRDF, Omkar worked with farmers to make them self-reliant by producing various organic inputs. He worked with tribal women farmers to converge Tussar silk production with MGNREGA and taken up income generating afforestation activities to improve their livelihoods.
Omkar is a B.Tech graduate from IIT-Gandhinagar and had a brief stint in banking sector.
Naresh Babu Kunche
Naresh is a Prime Minister’s Rural Development Fellow (PMRDF) working in a remote, Naxal affected & tribal district in Chhattisgarh. As a PMRDF, he is working on improving maternal & child health through various interventions. He has contributed significantly to improve forest based livelihoods through value chain enhancements.
As a student, Naresh along with a few friends in IIIT has started Prayas to improve the education standards of students from under privileged backgrounds. While working in IT sector, Naresh voluntarily lead various initiatives for development of tribal areas. He was also key member PayPal CSR core committee.
Naresh is a B.Tech graduate from IIIT-Allahabad and had a bright career at PayPal.
Preeti Tiwari is a doctoral student at BITS, Pilani. Her area of interest is entrepreneurship, cultural entrepreneurship, strategy, social start-ups and management practices.
She has worked for AIDS awareness among prostitutes and sex workers, and gender discrimination at the workplace. She has presented her papers at various conferences of national and international repute. Her research work has been published in various international journals and books.
Dinesh is a Program Officer (Policy and Program) – RRA (Revitalizing Rainfed Agriculture) at WASSAN. His experience includes design, planning, implementation and policy advocacy of thematic programs on rainfed agriculture in 5 CPs in 5 States.
Various pilots undertaken under his leadership like Revival of Millets, Integrated Farming etc. are now scaled at state level. He is a member of drafting committee for developing State Organic policy and revised PKVY guidelines for Odisha. Prior to this, Dinesh worked as a Software Engineer for 3 years.
Mayank is currently working on improving maternal & child health in rural Rajasthan through Antara Foundation.
As a PMRDF, Mayank worked in Jharkhand to improve last mile public service delivery across sectors such as health, skill-development, housing and livelihoods. In a stint at the Chief Secretary’s office in Jharkhand, he focused on effective implementation of technology, infrastructure and public procurement projects.
Mayank was a Teach For India (TFI) fellow & had stints in a fashion startup & technology firm.
Mayank is a management graduate from FMS & a B.Tech graduate.
Sandeep is a Research Associate & Project Manager at Market Research MNC GfK Mode Pvt. Ltd. He is leading the team for comprehensive survey on Child Nutrition in all the North Eastern states for UNICEF.
As a PMRDF, Sandeep worked in the Korea district of Chhattisgarh. He has been a nodal officer to implement multiple state and district level projects in the areas of child nutrition, community and youth mobilization and skill development. He has pursued an academic course in Development practice with TISS, Mumbai.
Sandeep is an engineer in Computer Science & had a bright career at TCS.
Piyush Goel is our Executive Director - Health Initiatives and is based out of Sukma, Chhattisgarh. He manages our day to day operations and project execution.
For 8 years he has been involved with various NGO’s and organizations as a volunteer, intern, coordinator, facilitator, etc; worked towards education, child labour eradication, slum and community development, advocacy, governance, active - informed - responsible citizenry, and others.
Satish is working with RKSS organization in the remote, tribal areas of Bastar district to improve maternal & child health outcomes.He worked as Research Associate for Microsoft m-Health Project in Mobile Innovation Hub, SRM School of Public Health, SRM University. He is involved in Performance Outcome Evaluation of ICDS Programme Project with SRM University, Tamilnadu.
Satish is a Master's in Public Health graduate (with IT in healthcare specialization) from SRM university. He is also a Physiotherapist.
Mamata has more than 5 year of experience in the field Public health care in areas related to Maternal and Child Health Care, Nutrition, Malaria, Water, Technology, Near miss strategy in MCH, Social marketing, Community Development and Rural as well as tribal Health care system.
Mamata is a Master's in Public Health graduate from University of Bedfordshire, UK. and an Ayurvedic doctor. Mamata worked for sometime in a Govt. PHC as AYUSH doctor.
