In 2017,  3 children died every 2 minutes in India before celebrating their 1st birthday (UN Report).

As per the World Health Organization (WHO):

  • 46% of the under-5 child deaths occur during the first month of birth.
  • Nutrition-related factors contribute to about 45% of deaths in children under-5 years of age.
    More than half of the under-5 child deaths can be prevented or treated with access to simple, affordable interventions. Strengthening health systems to provide such interventions to all children will save many young lives.
